Every girl loves flowers, it's an undeniable fact of the universe. But what most girls probably don't know is that two of their favorite flowers are related. The cannabis we consume belongs to a small family called Cannabaceae which includes around 170 species. One of these species, Humulus (Hops), is also well known to humans and played a crucial role in our building and development of society during a time when there was no clean drinking water.
All of those species belong to a much bigger family known as Rosales. Rosales are climbing plants with petal less flowers, but are a very diverse species that ranges from full trees like the hackberry, to the most beautiful and delicate rose. Other Rosales that we consume on a regular basis are strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, even apples and pears plums and peaches! Can't forget the apricots, almonds and figs either. So the next time you are buying your wife a bouquet of flowers, ask the florist if she has any of the more "exotic" roses in the back. Or at the grocery store in the produce aisle, think about how all the fruits you've enjoyed your whole life are related to the reason you have munchies and bought twice as much food as you had on your list.
