On September 28th the sun was shining, the weather was sweet, and Cannabis history was made at The Maine Cannabis Fair the world’s original Green Ribbon Fair. This was the world’s first Cannabis Fair, bringing together Maine’s Cannabis Community & Industry together and showcasing it for the world! Our furthest visitors this year was a group from Hawaii.
Just how ILoveMeWeed is more than a platform The Maine Cannabis Fair wasn’t just an event; but a movement of the people coming together and standing up for themselves and actively taking part in shaping Cannabis history and the Cannabis Revolution.
Everything about The Maine Cannabis Fair was carefully thought out to ensure the best experience for everyone involved. I travelled around the state looking for the best venue to host it and settled upon Stonehedge in Gray, Maine. It’s an absolutely beautiful setting and has plenty of space for everyone to sprawl out and do their thing.
The Maine Cannabis Fair wasn’t about being the flashiest but instead about making meaningful and long-lasting connections with one another. This was achieved by creating an extremely comfortable welcoming setting and atmosphere where you felt at ease.
The Walkable Garden Was Blooming With Beautiful Flowers
OMG Glass always bringing the Vibe!
The inaugural Maine Cannabis Fair featured a variety of things to do whether you were an experienced stoner or a brand-new patient trying to learn more new information in a safe & welcoming setting. The Pharma’s Market was made up of Maines most talented and dedicated growers all personally handpicked and vetted to offer everyone the highest quality selection grown by the kindest people around.
Whether you brought your own stash or acquired some fresh products there were plenty of tables set up with your standard smoke session essentials including Q-Tip’s, rubbing alcohol, ash trays etc.
There was a dab fan for those who always break out in dab sweats. I took it a step further and brought in some cool gear like a Selfie Tracking Station so those who wanted to film themselves getting in a session could do so with ease and style. I also set up an instant printer that connected directly to your phone. Printing either standard or even stickers of your photos you got at the fair!
The Smoking Section had Signs To Help Guide People Use The Technologic Gear
The Maine Cannabis Fair was also the host of educational seminars and demonstrations to help us all grow together as a community. Three was a Basic Introduction to Solventless Demonstration & Seminar with Ryan of High Striker Farms, CBD & CBG Seminar with NH Hemp Co, A seminar on Tissue Culture and Genetic Preservation with Dylan of East Coast Cure & Maine Strain and as well as featuring me. There was also a seminar on The Importance of Eating Healthy and How to Grow Your Own Food at Home with Andrew of Dungeon Valley Cannabis.
We had planned a few more including Children & Medical Cannabis with Susan Meehan along with How to Grow Your Own Medical Cannabis with Seaside Stephen but there was a delay at the start, so they were delayed until next year! If anyone has any questions feel free to reach out to the host of the seminar.
The Maine Cannabis Fair also featured a walkable garden along with the Gnome & Fairy Forest a beautiful magical setting for you to hangout with your crew and burn one or two or take a stroll with your significant other and take in all the beauty. There was also a game where the first person to find all the Gnomes hidden throughout the forest won a prize! Along with a Gnome & Fairy Forest stash & dash later on in the evening.
Once those munchies kicked in it was a quick walk over to the food vendors where you could choose from authentic Jamaican Food by Jeff’s Jamaican Food Cuisine which is lovingly family made or some extremely high-quality King Crusty pizza made by our good buds over at King Custy Kitchen. King Crusty Pizza is always made using handmade dough which is a multi-day process of labor and love but when you take a bite you will see why they never settle for anything less.
You Know When The Chefs Have Smiles This Big The Food Is Going To Be Delicious
The Maine Cannabis Fair featured your standard lawn games and activities for you and your friends to have fun with such as Cornhole, but also featured never before done things such as Solar Powered Air Hockey. That’s right you read that right Solar Powered Air Hockey. Welcome to the stoned future!
Everyone Has Played Air Hockey Stoned Before, But Never SOLAR Air Hockey.
Not only was the Air Hockey solar powered but all of the Educational Seminars were Solar Powered and the Stand-Up Comedy Act. In the future The Maine Cannabis Fair will continue to use renewable energy to power more and more of the Fair until we are at 100% renewable energy.
The Maine Cannabis Fair also hosted local artist OMG Glass. OMG glass has become known for his Lucky Ducky’s which are an awesome way to keep a lot of luck on you in a small package. OMG Glass also offers a wide range of artist styles from his ability to capture characters to nature. OMG Glass also accepts commissions on customs, so reach out to him if you have any ideas!
The Maine Cannabis Fair also hosted the local painter Steven Pacquin who is known across the scene for his live paintings of musical sets at festivals and events. Steven has a very unique artistic style and is truly a hippie from another era.
Once the sun started going down the live entertainment began with a highlarious stand-up set from the very funny Zach Gobeil aka @NewEnglandDad on Instagram. Zach brought his dad humor in full force and had the crowd laughing the whole time. B-Positive then performed and rocked the crowd with his signature style of positivity and good times for all!
For those camping out the night didn’t end there! The Gnome & Fairy Forest was glowing all night as was all the glow from the bong rips and joints burning throughout the night.
I Was Lucky Enough To Get A Photo Of a Fairy But The Gnomes Were Too Quick
The Maine Cannabis Fair was entirely Grass Roots planned out solely by me and coordinated by myself from the 7-day process of hand drawing the map, to picking out the vendors. There were no big corporate sponsorships though they tried and offered.
The point was not for the fair to be completely perfect but to showcase our unique one-of-a-kind culture, community and industry spreading it across the world and not keep it in the shadows where it has been forced for so long. Us standing up for what we believe in and all of us coming together made it a truly special day and one I am extremely grateful for. Thank you to everyone who participated and attended.
The Maine Cannabis Fair is just getting started and will be back in 2025 for the 2nd annual “The Worlds Original Green Ribbon Fair”.
See you all then! -Dillon
