Hello and welcome! Thanks for being here and giving the community the opportunity to get to know you better. Please introduce yourself.
Alison + Tony, Husband + wife owned + operated cannabis grow + delivery. We are breeders. as well.
With a unique name like 2FatCats Organics I have to ask. What’s the story behind the name?
We've always had a deep love & connection with animals. We wanted to dedicate our name to our two boys. In memory of Meatball, our kitty who has since passed, and Salvadore the other fat orange cat. It's definitely unique & memorable!
The Fat Cat Himself Salvadore
What is your history with Cannabis?
Tony is a 2nd generation Farmer, introduced to the plant in 1998. Tony has always had a deep, spiritual connection + respect for the plant. My (Alison) true Connection with cannabis began around 2016 when I began my recovery from heroin journey, although I had been introduced to and Smoking Cannabis since 1994.
If you had to each pick your top 3 favorite strains of all time?
Chem 91, Burnham Red Eye, Lemon Thai x Original Diesel (Albany Sour Diesel).
2FatCats Organics have deep roots within the Maine Cannabis Community. How would you explain the differences in the Maine Cannabis Community vs the Cannabis scene in other legal states?
We think Maine tries to Showcase and bring focus to the small batch, craft organic farmer. We feel other states focus more on Showcasing hype + packaging. Cannabis in Maine is heavily legacy influenced..
How do you think the Maine Cannabis scene has changed over the years?
We think its changed in a positive way as far as patient access. Growers have now been able to come out from 'behind the trees' so to speak. Unfortunately, with all the laws and how they're written, we're seeing corporate canna trying to take over, causing disillusion amongst consumers on what clean meds really are.
If you had to pick a favorite thing about Cannabis, what would it be?
Probably its unique ability to heal the mind and the body.
