Hello and welcome! Thank you for being here and providing the opportunity for the community to get to know you better.
Absolutely, thank you for having me! I love the website and app you’re currently working on for the community of Maine.
Between the name East Coast Cure and your slogan “Committed to The Cure,” you clearly put a lot of thought into a proper cure. For those who haven’t grown before, can you explain the importance of a proper cure and the drastic effects it has on the final product?
Yes, the cure in our opinion, is the final and most crucial step when cultivating high-end cannabis. You can spend months of time and expenses just to ruin all your hard work at the end of a grow cycle through improper curing techniques. A proper cure is meant to give you the full potential of cannabinoids & terpene characteristics that the strain has to offer, whereas an improper or rushed cure can leave that “Hay/Fresh-cut grass chlorophyll” smell with lower TACs/terpene levels.
The Cure in our slogan is also a play on words… we’re committed to supplying you with products to cure whatever ails you.
How did you get started with Cannabis?
I started growing cannabis when I was 14. I was always intrigued by the whole process and wanted to produce my own product even back then. I started experimenting growing outdoors in the middle of the woods in northern Maine guerrilla grow style, lugging bales of soil, water, and nutrients deep into the woods through wetlands. I was growing where no one would ever think of walking just to pull off a crop. Things were stricter back then so being discreet was always necessary.
A few years later, I was able to get a med card at the age of 16 and started growing low plant counts. I was growing in 100-200-gallon pots, huge 12-15 ft monsters in the open outdoors. Fast forward 4 years later to becoming a caregiver, I moved into indoor garage grows and Maine’s first fully automated light deprivation for cannabis back then. Then over the last 10 years, we’ve geared more into indoor cultivation for flower production and greenhouse & full-sun spectrum rosin production. Always continuing to learn and perfect our craft.
Favorite Thing About Cannabis?
My favorite thing about cannabis is how much more potential this plant has. I feel we are just breaking the surface when it comes to what this plant can truly offer in so many different aspects of life. It makes me excited for the future and being a part of studying and expanding this plant to its true potential over the coming years.
What are your current grow methods?
I have a few different methods depending on whether it’s our indoor, greenhouse, or full-season plants. My methods indoors focus on sterile hydroponic cultivation where we focus on keeping the media “sterile,” basically meaning a lack of microorganisms that you’d traditionally find in soil. Our indoor is all cultivated in rockwool as I find it best for the crop steering methods we use and easier keeping the rooms clean and pest free.
Our greenhouses use very similar methods to our indoor except grown in coco coir. . Coir gives me a little bit of a buffer for controllability as there are sometimes extra variables in the greenhouses that we don’t encounter in a perfectly climatized indoor grow. For our outdoor cultivation, we like to keep it simple using amended soil with teas, building a biodiverse ecosystem within the soil for the long outdoor season that only gets better each year with time.
East Coast Cure has an in-house tissue culture lab which allows you guys to have a very diversified strain lineup. What are some strains you guys are currently running?
We have over 300 genetics banked in our tissue culture library, some of which I’ve had for almost 15 years and some that are 30+ years old. Having tissue culture helps us be able to hold so many and not take up so much space compared to having traditional plants, as well as ensuring a guaranteed clean start every run. But for newer ones we are currently running, we are running a lot of new genetics we created under our breeding/genetics line @Mademengenetics, a ton of new Blue Cookies crosses we’ve been working on for many years that I’m real excited to release.
Any strains coming soon that people can get excited about?
Like I’d mentioned before, our genetics line @Mademengenetics has a lot of new crosses in the works from our Blue Cookies line like the Blue Truffle (White Truffle x Blue Cookies) & Pruno (Orange Cookies x Blue Cookies), both are very unique with incredible terp profiles with all the Blue Cookies potency.
Real gas and creamy on the Blue Truffle and intense nose-burning citrus cleaner terps with a hint of that Blue Cookies gas on the Pruno. But we have a few hundred other crosses we’ve made that we are slowly working through R&Ding and testing as well as releasing the seeds to the public as we go through them.
East Coast Cure and Tastefully Baked were the winners of our 2023 Gummy Showdown with your Rosin Chews. For 2024, you guys are collaborating once again but this time coming out with some new flavors. What flavors can people get excited for this time?
For 2024, you can expect some of the flavors you loved from the first batch to be included like Strawberry, Cotton Candy, Watermelon & Raspberry, and all the Peach Flavor. As the year goes on, we plan to release a few more surprise flavors as well to add to the lineup!
Something interesting you guys offer for patients who aren’t looking for a high dose of THC are your 20:1 AC/DC Capsules. What are the capsules made from?
Our capsules are made from sun-grown AC/DC live fresh frozen product decarbed and combined with an MCT oil then capsuled in a Vegan 00 capsule. Very simple. We love to produce this for an affordable full-spectrum medicine for people that aren’t looking for the psychoactive effects but looking for something with a wider range of cannabinoids compared to a product with just CBD.
We’ve seen tons of medicinal value from helping stop seizures, chronic pain, eating disorders, sleep disorders, or just taking them like a vitamin as a daily supplemental boost all around an amazing strain.
A cool thing I saw you guys started doing is printing ATM receipts on smokeable non-toxic wood pulp paper with food-grade ink.
Yeah! Just recently, we started working with a company called “Rolly Receipts” for our retail locations that offer a smokable non-toxic rolling paper for your receipt every time you make a withdrawal!
Where Can Patients Find Your Products?

Will You Guys Be At Any Events/Sessions In The Coming Future?

What Can Patients Look Forward To From You Guys In The Future?
Tons of new genetics! With all the ones we’ve made ourselves and new upcoming hype genetics, we have tons of new releases upcoming! And most importantly, continuation of a high standard of quality control and making sure the end consumer is receiving nothing but the best and nothing we wouldn’t consume ourselves.
