Hello and welcome Jake ! Thanks for being here and giving the community an opportunity to get know you better.
Stoney Grove is a wicked good name, is there a funny story behind it?
Our first grow was on “Groveville road,” we were playing around with the idea with using “grove” in the name, at the same time we had been playing around with names like “foggy meadows,” just something sort of “nature-ey” then Stoney Grove came up, we weren’t 100% on it at first been after it a bit it just stuck and we started to love it.
What is your history with Cannabis?
We met in college, I (Jake) started buying weed from Shawn and we hit it off and have been friends ever since. Cannabis played (and continues to play) a massive role in our friendship. Cannabis has been in our lives for decades at this point, but in terms of cultivation that came a little later. We teamed up as caregivers in 2019, after cultivating independently for roughly 10 years at that point.
Any personal favorite strains from back in the day?
We used to get this Blueberry Northern Lights from Cali back in college that rocked our worlds. We wonder how it would compare to the cannabis around here today, but at the time it was insane. Used to pay $400/oz wholesale
What are Stoney Groves growing technique?
We Grow with Organic Inputs and practices, currently using the last of our Vegamatrix nutrients now.

Stoney Grove has a very diverse line up of genetics ranging from classics like Kosher Kush and GMO to strains you don’t see every day like Leon Phelps and one of my personal favorite Glitter Bomb. What do you guys look for when selecting strains to grow?
Ultimately we just want to be excited about the finished product. Of course we need it to yield and we have to take into consideration factors that make it financially viable to work with (flower time, easy to defol, strong stems etc.) but the better the end product is the more willing we are to make concessions on certain factors.
If You Haven't Experienced Any Kosher Kush Yet You Are Missing Out.
Are there any new strains Stoney Grove has been working on that patients can look forward to?
Yes, a lot actually. We’re hunting through some Scotty 2 Hotty (Biscotti x Rainbow Chip.) And are working with some new cuts: Blue Zushi, Black Ice, Medellin, and Truffle Cake.
Do you have a favorite aspect of growing / working with the plant?
The whole process of pheno hunting. The idea that you’re bringing in a new pheno into existence for the first time is really cool.

What are your thoughts on the Maine Cannabis scene compared to the other states in the area?
It’s not hard to make the assumption that Maine has some of the best cannabis in the Northeast when we see how many people come up here from out of state. Not going to shit talk the other states I'm sure there are plenty of good growers all over the place but we’re proud to be part of a community that is so consistently putting out fire.
Where Can patients find your products?
Atlantic Farms, Green Truck, Rocksteady Remedies, Karma Cannabis, The Market, Skunk Circus, Shaggy's Baggy, Kind Guy, Local Leaf, Green Gnome, and more but these are the ones were more consistent in.
Does Stoney Grove offer direct to patient sales?
Yes, Link in our Instagram bio! or www.stoneygrovecannabis.com can take you to our dutchie.
Other than The Maine Cannabis Fair will Stoney Grove be attending any events in the near future?
