How To Quickly Spot A Bad Dispensary

You're in a new town and you want to pop in the dispensary conveniently across the street but you don't know anything about them and are just starting out. Well with a few questions you'll be able to know if you're good to go or better bail out before you end up with some overpriced mids.

First things first is you have to be able to see the products! So many places just have jars and don't let you see let alone smell. This is a huge red flag and if this is the case just walk right out. Second is to ask who's growing it. Sometimes places will have a private grower or two, but an entire dispensary of private growers is a huge red flag. Be sure to ask about their growing methods as well. A good dispensary will know the growing styles of the people they carry, and will be more than happy to discuss them. If for any reason they seem to be bothered by you asking these questions that's obviously a mega red flag.

A good dispensary will also carry various brands, not just their own. There are so many great growers out there and so many strains to grow it's impossible to do it all yourself. So someone only carrying themselves is something I watch out for. Another great question to see if they actually know their stuff or are just pushing whatever is to ask who extracts their concentrates. Also if they are CRC'd or not. Many times I've gotten the response of "What's That?". Knowing their genetics they carry and the effects they have is the main job of a budtender. So they should definitely be able to explain to you in detail what they do.

Another thing that is crucial is a return policy. If you aren't able to bring something back then that's a huge red flag. Obviously bringing back that last 2 grams of an ounce is not what I am talking about. But some places are so strict they won't let you return a defective cart. Be sure to know the return policy before you purchase stuff. Especially in bulk. Also be sure to always check the bag BEFORE you leave. So many times places forget stuff or they give you the wrong thing. Be sure to check before you go!

If you want a full guide on dispensaries I will have a follow up article very soon. Also if you ever have a bad feeling just go somewhere else, it's never worth it. Cannabis should be bought from a kind hearted place that has good intentions and cares about the culture, not a greedy shop who is only there because it's a great business.
