This One Hitter Report on Mandatory Testing comes right after the recall for Recreational Cannabis from OCP. The recalls of over from a company called Nova Farms, company that does business in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maine and Pennsylvania. That sounds like an awful lot of Cannabis Grows to keep track of!
Mandatory Testing has been increasingly spoken about since we covered it in our fist Channel 420 special and the public has been intentionally misled. Mandatory Testing in the current form doesn’t work for multiple reasons. The first being that the whole batch isn’t tested, just a small, cherry-picked sample. No matter the batch size whether a giant corporate 100lb harvest or a small 1lb craft harvest. Which brings up the next issue mom & pops with a small craft grow are forced to pay the same price for testing as the big corporations.
A giant issue consumers aren’t aware of or educated on is the fact that companies aren’t required to label their products as being treated with radiation, chemicals or other “techniques” to pass the mandatory testing. Another issue consumers aren’t aware of is the fact that Moldy Cannabis is all too often extracted and then made into dabs, cartridges and edibles. There is no mandatory labelling required. Moldy Concentrated Products is something that OCP is well aware of, in fact we have them on video saying so.
What is the solution? First require mandatory labeling in an honest fashion. No more hiding products made from moldy starting material or remediated products that should have never passed in the first place. The cost of testing needs to be lowered to the point of affordability to all companies regardless of size, or perhaps better yet covered with revenue from the program. The punishment for pushing moldy and unsafe products needs to be severe enough that companies would rather toss the products than eat the fines and punishment. Just to keep on going about their middy business.
We also need to look at who is pushing these narratives and what is the motive behind it. Companies want to limit the market, through any means necessary. Testing companies would also benefit majorly from mandatory testing forced onto the medical market. Theoretically being able to continuously raise their price since it would be mandatory for the growers. Why punish everyone for the actions of some bad actors?
Add On: Cannabis Companies shop for testing companies to achieve the test results they want. This is happening to the point of hurting the sales of legit ones so they have to close up being unable to compete. Shops looking for high THC % or Terpene % will shop around until they find the one that will give them the highest number.
