The Cannabis community is currently under attack from not only mega corporations, but from within itself. Companies are attacking one another for a variety of reasons and are allowing their jealousy to get the best of them. This inner turmoil provides the perfect opportunity for the community to get taken advantage of on many levels.
From the very start I have been warning of these social media platforms not wanting us. I even built a platform where we could all post freely, but people were too comfortable with what they had. Now companies and individuals who have worked for years sometimes over a decade on their page have lost all their work.
In most cases due directly to report attacks from people who are jealous. Due to the faulty terms and service, you aren't allowed to appeal or make a case for yourself. Once banned for good you aren't allowed to create another account. Which is why you aren't seeing anymore names like "MyProfileName3.0."
Companies losing their main ability to advertise can understandably leave them feeling desperate, looking for an alternative to be able to sustain your business. Such as the other apps like Weedmaps who utilize a completely Pay to Play system, charging $20,000 + to be featured on the front page alone. Tricking patients into companies on the front page produce quality products since they are the most popular.
The people who are doing the reporting will not win in the end. Instead, those who believe in collaboration over competition will rise. Copycats will also be left behind those who are at the forefront by using their creativity. While the people who are truly creating their own brand from their creative vision will flourish.
The time for those who truly care about what they do, the community they serve and the future of Cannabis to come together is now. Together we are strong and divided we fall.
