OCP has recently announced they are going to be shutting down Caregiver Offices, the latest attack on the industry made up of small dedicated and talented craft growers that make Maine an extremely special one-of-a-kind place in the world. The Cannabis industry in Maine made up of small craft growers is what the entire world needs as Cannabis continues to become legal in more places.
Instead of promoting the small farmers, there are just more and more needless rules and restrictions being applied. These rules end up costing the farmers more and more money, inevitably forcing them out of industry. Leaving the patients with one less dedicated and talented grower to get medicine from and one step closer to being forced to smoke corporate mids.
We all need to come together and unify for the common good of all and not what just benefits us as individuals. They are taken advantage of the fighting, unneeded competition against one another and lack of stable communication between industry members. We need to realize this is Taxation Without Representation and start making our voices heard and our actions felt. Our forefathers fought against tyranny for the rights we have, its time we start using them and not keep letting them get picked off slowly but surely one by one.
We posted a call to action in regards to OCPs listening session in Oxford, but OCP cancelled the meeting due to a member being sick. We are sending out another call to action for all members of the Cannabis Community to come together and ask any questions you may have, bring up any concerns and stand against the attack on Maine's Craft Cannabis Industry by banning Caregiver offices.
OCP will host the Waldo County session on September 24th, and the Knox County listening session on September 25th.
