ILoveMeWeed is proud to be the official media sponsor of “The Not Your Average Cannabis Festival” presented by Jared aka Average Cannabis Guy and Terp Valley Farms. This was actually the first year of the Not Your Average Cannabis Festival, Jared hosted a similarly named event called the Not Your Average Sesh”.
The Not Your Average Cannabis Festival took place at the well-known event venue Stonehedge in Gray, Maine. Stonehedge unfortunately suffered from a severe fire earlier this year which ultimately claimed the barn and main stage. This tragedy didn’t stop the team behind Stonehedge, instead they kept their venue space going by building a temporary stage located on top of their hill.

Those attending had the option of purchasing standard tickets, or a V.I.P ticket with a gift bag and other swag included. There was also the option of purchasing an additional ticket for camping directly on site.
Something I really appreciated about The Not Your Average Cannabis Festival featured an incredible line up of talented growers from around the state of Maine. I really enjoyed how the lineup not only included Maine staples such as Moon Jelly but also other extremely talented growers who you don’t see vend at events. This led to a breath of fresh Cannabis, in an all too often stale scene of the same vendors event to event.
The "Stoner Mobile" In All It's Glory
ILoveMeWeed was able to do something we have talked about doing for a long time, thanks to our good buds over at High Striker Farms we were able to have a real life “Stoner Mobile” that we always have featured on the cover of our Maine Adventures Series. High Striker happened to have the same bus in the same color, so we partnered together and made the “Stoner Mobile” photo booth! Where you could come with you friends and get your photo professionally taken! We also wanted to help out and give back to the community so also had the “Stoner Mobile” be a hydration station with free bottled water.
Lots Of Smiles At The "Stoner Mobile"
In order to celebrate the “Stoner Mobile” photo booth we also gave away two tickets for someone to bring their festie bestie. The lucky winner was Brian from NH. I was able to meet up with him at the festival and messaged him afterwards. He said he had a great time, and it was awesome for a good guy to win. We are looking forward to doing more giveaways in the upcoming future.
When it comes to outdoor events the weather plays one of the biggest parts, and it’s the one thing you can’t control. The weather was absolutely perfect, with the sun out all day and enough cloud coverage and wind to keep you cool it was truly an idealistic Maine late Spring Day. With so many great vendors the great weather was perfect for people to stop by booth to booth without getting too hot and needing to take breaks in the shade.
If you did get too hot or if the munchies started to kick in there were tasty food truck options available like Hungry Mama featuring tacos and snow cones, Stop Drop N’ Roll and the debut of King Crusty Pizza which was also serving ice cream. King Crusty Pizzas debut was so good they actually sold out! As a way to say thank you they went around the festival and handed out ice cream free of charge.

There weren’t just great cannabis vendors but also great glass and accessory vendors such as CantHave2Much, Slate Glass, Mohawk Glass and Getz Glass with accessories by Blue Garage Studios. I couldn’t help but scoop up a Jerry awesome cork mat from Blue Garage featuring Jerry Garcia’s hand with his knub for a middle finger and some marching bears. It’s always nice to support shakedown street even if you aren’t making a big purchase!

We at ILoveMeWeed keep repeating this but we are going to again, the Maine Cannabis scene is unlike any other in the world. With so many talented and dedicated craft growers putting out the best and most fresh Cannabis available on the market anywhere in the world. One of the key differences in the medical scene in Maine compared to other places is the ability to go direct to the farmer. Events like this give patients the ability to shop directly from a ton of farmers saving a lot of time planning multiple trips and time on the road.
The Not Your Average Cannabis Festival was filled with some of the best growers in Maine, giving patients nearly an endless number of options to choose from. No matter if you are a fan of regular flowers, edibles or any kind of concentrate from the classic shatter, to live resin and an incredibly large selection of the top Live Rosin you will be able to find anywhere. Whether you were looking for your standard everyday strains grown to perfection, or some Hazes and even strains bred from the farmer you won’t find anywhere else.
Getting The Opportunity To See and Smell Beforehand Is Crucial
A great example of a local breeder who is putting out not only fantastic genetic work but also top-level products to patients is Woodstock Farmacy. Woodstock Farmacy is a family run farm that has been put in work in the garden for a long time! If you are a fan of peach terps their Saturn Peach is incredible, some other fan favorites are their Haskap and Polly Ester. If you didn’t make it to the fest but these strains have got you excited don’t worry Woodstock Farmacy also has a shop in you could have guessed it Woodstock, Maine!
With so many great options to choose from if you were feeling overwhelmed there was a patient sample bar where you would be able to try out some of the options available along with numerous options from growers around the state. Two companies that really hooked up the medical patient sample table was Buds By Bissel and Aquanut Organics. Buds By Bissel brought out an entire pheno hunt of one of their newest strains for everyone to try and vote on which they liked best. Aquanut Organics was very generous with their flower samples and donated a ton of different strains.

A Cannabis festival wouldn’t be complete without live music and the Not Your Average Cannabis Festival had live music all day featuring the acts Dog 8 Dog, Space Kamp and Catch A Vibe. All three bands had a very different style but all three kept the good vibes going all day. Dog 8 Dog was a garage band style, Space Kamp has a Hip-Hop Reggae style mixed with some psychedelia and Catch A Vibe is a classic reggae band with a horn section that is really good! All three bands did a great job and the crowd was digging it the whole time.

Overall, it was an amazing day at the inaugural Not Your Average Cannabis Festival, from the fantastic Cannabis available directly from the farmers to everyone attending being so chill and kind. All the way down to Stonehedge being a great venue giving you a farm setting right conveniently next to the city. We at ILoveMeWeed are really looking forward to next years!
